Following the completion of district-level mhGAP training, a dedicated supportive supervision phase was implemented from July to December across all five target districts — Sylhet, Chapainawabganj, Sherpur, Netrokona, and Kurigram — to ensure that trained healthcare providers could effectively apply mhGAP interventions in routine clinical settings.
A total of 41 supportive supervision visits were conducted over this six-month period, with supervisors assessing implementation quality, addressing practical challenges, and providing hands-on guidance on documentation and record-keeping of mental health services.
The supervision phase played a critical role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired during training and real-world clinical application. It also helped reinforce referral pathways and strengthen systematic mental health record-keeping at the district level.
Healthcare providers demonstrated improved understanding of mhGAP protocols, enhanced confidence in managing common mental health conditions, and more structured referral practices as a result of continued supervisory support.
